Tools for a Strong Financial Future — presented by the Jake Peavy Foundation
FOCUS FORWARD FINANCIAL SCHOLARS
As a 2X World Series Champion, 3X MLB All-Star and 2007 Cy Young winner, Jake Peavy has been part of many amazing moments as a Major League Baseball pitcher.
Jake’s time in the MLB, along with his personal experiences, has made him passionate about financial education and preparing young people for a successful future. In 2017, Jake Peavy Foundation launched Focus Forward Financial Scholars, a digital program that teaches elementary students the fundamentals of money management.
Implemented directly in schools, the private-labeled digital education program has allowed Jake to impact nearly one thousand students across a total of 21 elementary schools in San Francisco, San Diego, Boston, and Mobile.
To have somebody who groomed me to stay focused on the task at hand has helped me succeed at baseball and in life…when I was young and through different trials in my life, that’s what we did: moved forward.
– Jake Peavy
FOCUS FORWARD IN YOUR COMMUNITY
The Jake Peavy Foundation supports sports, music, and financial literacy programs that transform the lives of young people, particularly those in underserved and at-risk communities across America. In 2017, The Foundation partnered with education technology provider EVERFI to create Focus Forward and empower the next generation with the financial knowledge they need to lead healthy, financially responsible lives.
Jake’s vision is to offer the Focus Forward program nationwide. To bring this to a city near you or to learn more, please contact: Sarah Lauren Allen, Executive Director – email@example.com
